Year 483 of the Second Age

The Year of the Loom

(151st Year of the 6th Unknown King of Duinnor)

§
The first census of the world takes place. Ordered by Duinnor, it is to be performed each year. Each person must sign a book attesting to his name and age, as well as the names and ages of all members of his household. Other information must also be provided, such as occupation, and certain aspects of property. Every county, shire, town, and village must comply or face steep fines and tributes. In most Realms, this accounting is performed in the autumn of the year, traditionally incorporated into the harvest celebrations. Since an annual oath of loyalty to Duinnor must also be made, it is normally part of these duties and is often called "The Renewing."

§
Lord Banis's son, Navis, leads a small expedition to Shatuum in an effort to free his sister from Secundur. He is never seen again.
