In the newly seized territories east of the River Iridelin, a coalition of woodland Elifaen raise an army to resist Silmain's efforts to bring them under Vanaran rule. Silmain responds by sending an overwhelming force across the Iridelin to quash any resistance. This takes two years to accomplish, during which there are many bloody battles and many more reprisals that spark feuds among the Elifaen of the region. In the end, Silmain succeeds, and the "lands across the river" fall under Vanaran rule from the Iridelin to the western boughs of the old forest of Halethiris (later to be called Forest Islindia).
