With only three of the original ships that left Glareth, the House of Faircedar departs Forlandis bound for Masurthia. Five days later, they are hit by a typhoon. Lucinda is drowned and her daughter is killed before the three ships are driven ashore and wrecked. Many others have also died. Lucinda's two sons, Tavin and Palos, are spared, and the Bloodcoins are saved. After waiting three weeks for rescue, Tavin and Palos along with thirty others decide to strike out overland for Solsorna in Masurthia. They are never seen again, nor are their Bloodcoins.
