Year 1260 of the First Age

§
Thurdun, constantly on the run and at the same time trying to organize an army to lead against his father, goes to Wayregyle. His aim is to remind Katrina and the House of Fairmaple of their oath to support Cupeldain's House of Fairlinden and to convince her to join with him against Parthais. However, when he arrives in Wayregyle, he finds only a few settlements of Newcomers (Men) who live among the overgrown ruins of castles and villages left behind many years earlier. Thurdun is also told that some of the mountain Elifaen have stories of how Katrina led her people away across the "northern river," (meaning the Osterflo) with the aim of crossing into the icy wastelands to make new settlements far away.
